| Using a variety of print, commercial online and Internet resources
the reference librarians can locate information,
facts, data, and statistics; conduct Literature
Searches. There is no charge for the service, however, any
incurred cost in procuring information for you will be passed
on to your project/task. Reference Librarians also provide training
in the use of Library and Internet resources. The reference
librarians are
always happy to be the patron's primary contact for all library
services; if they cannot personally provide the needed service,
they will pass the request on to the correct Library personnel.
To arrange for these services, please contact a reference
librarian.
Service Standard: In NM our
standard turnaround time is 5 working days. There will
be exceptions to our capability to delivery your requests
within the five days, such as:
- When the request includes procuring content outside
of the Technical Library every effort will be made
to get the content within the standard. If it is known
at the time of the request that the source of the external
content cannot deliver within our standard, you will
be informed and given the opportunity to negotiate
a different deadline.
- Extensive search requests or subsequent scope change of
the original search request will require a negotiation of a
reasonable deadline.
We recognize that there will be times when you may need something
sooner than five working days. Please ask. If we can accommodate
your deadline without rearranging other commitments or calling
in extra resources, we will negotiate a different deadline with
you.
We will acknowledge receipt of your request. |
| The Library has access to many print, electronic, and Internet
resources. The reference librarians will
search these databases for you, saving you time and money by eliminating
duplication of research and providing data, resources, and answers
to your questions in a timely and efficient way. Searches can be
done using title words, abstract words, subject descriptors, authors,
dates, etc. Methods of delivery include traditional print materials
as well as transmission by e-mail and fax. To request a literature
search, please contact a reference librarian. |
