| Any Sandia employee, on-site contractor, or Albuquerque
DOE employee may borrow materials from the Sandia Technical Library.
Materials are not loaned to the general public or to other institutions. |
| Borrower Responsibilities |
|
| Books checked out to a borrower remain the responsibility
of that individual. Borrowers are responsible for replacing lost
library materials or for paying replacement costs including a processing
fee. Borrowers are expected to return materials in the same quality
condition as when checked out. |
| Borrowers are restricted to 25 items at one time.
While it is the Technical Library's practice to provide borrowers
sufficient time to use library materials, it is also the practice
to make its collections available to all users as much as possible.
Thus, loan periods are assigned to the various types of information
resources being loaned out from the Library. |
To search for material in the Technical Library's
collection link to our online
catalog. You may also contact your reference
librarian or libcirc@sandia.gov, (505)
844-2738. In CA contact Tiffany Vargas at (925) 294-4598.
When material is not part of the Library's collection it can
be requested from another library or document service through document
delivery. You may use the web-based Library
Request Form, or email to libdoc@sandia.gov.
In California contact Tiffany
Vargas at (925) 294-4598.
You may also purchase items through
the JIT Vendor, Page
One. |
| Occasionally items not checked out are missing from
the shelves. Circulation staff will try to locate the missing items,
but if they are not found within one week, the requestor is advised
to borrow the item through our document
delivery service. |
| Overdues and Replacements |
|
| Overdue notices are sent out before the borrower
is asked to pay for the material. A replacement notice requesting
authorization to charge the borrower's project/task number for
lost or not returned materials is issued after the final overdue
notice is sent. If the borrower does not respond, the Technical
Library will automatically charge his/her project/task number. |
| Holds can be placed on materials currently on loan
to another borrower. The requester is notified as soon as the material
is returned to the Library. Unclaimed holds are reshelved after
one week. |
| Materials not on hold for other users may be renewed
via the online catalog, in person
or by email libcirc@sandia.gov. |
